Various locks are placed in Stone Profits to prevent changing events & transactions which are tied to other events. A commonly found lock in SPS is placed on the Billing Information of events & transactions in various instances throughout the system.
Example Lock: PRE-SALES
Opportunities are always created simultaneously when other pre-sales events are created. This provides a place to list multiple pre-sales events under the one potential sale. For example, you may have two customer showroom visits, a quote, and a hold under one single Opportunity.
For this reason, you must change the Billing Information on the Opportunity ("parent") to change the Billing info on the events stemming from it ("child" events). If the billing customer changes on a child event, it should also be changing on the events running parallel under that one customer opportunity.
