Processing Pick Tickets

When your jobs are ready to move to production, your pick tickets can be given to people working in your shop as lists of what should be included on the order.

PICK TICKET RESTRICTIONS

For some jobs, it does not matter which slab is used from the lot. For others, the customer may have picked out a specific slab to be cut. To distinguish these scenarios, you can use the "Pick Ticket Restriction" function in your system. There are three options to choose from for each product line on orders:
  • Within Product: when this option is selected, you can swap the allocated inventory item(s) with any other item with the same product name. Keep in mind, when choosing "Within Product" you should still allocate an item in order to reduce the availability in your system.
  • Within Lot: this option will allow you to swap the allocated inventory item with another item which has the same Lot number.
  • Exact Slab: this option only allows scanning the exact same item that was allocated to the order when you process the pick ticket. The item scanned must have the same letters and numbers in the Barcode ID.

You can designate a Pick Ticket Restriction for each product line when you're in the product selection step of Creating a New Sales Order.

You also have the ability to change the Pick Ticket Restriction on the Sales Order Detail Page.

3.) From the Mobile version of Stone Profits, click "Warehouse" and then "Process Pick Ticket" to get to the page for scanning/entering the Pick Ticket number (shown far-right). Scan the barcode on the Pick Ticket printout to quickly enter it in the text box, or type it in manually.

4.) Scan the inventory items being used on the order. Below outlines the interface for doing so:

A.) This field is where your device's cursor should be placed when scanning the items being used for a job. Scanning the tags on your items will input the system-generated barcode ID.

B.) If you need to use additional materials for a job (more than originally allocated), click the green "+Inv" and scan the item. It will be allocated to the job from that point on.

C.) If your Pick Ticket Restriction is not set to "Exact Slab" you can swap the allocated item with another in the Product/Lot by clicking here and then scanning the item's tag.

D.) To remove an item from allocation to an order, click the red "DEL" button.

E.) After all lines have been scanned, you can "Create Packinglist" to signify that the job has been fabricated and is ready for fulfillment. Clicking this button temporarily takes you to the desktop version of the software. Confirm by again clicking "Create Packinglist" on the page and you'll be taken back to the mobile view.

Adding Pick Tickets to Sales Orders

Please see the Pick Ticket Overview article for general information on Pick Tickets. Below are the steps for creating Pick Tickets for confirmed Sales Orders.
1.) From the Sales Order Detail Page, click the "Add Pick Ticket" button.
Picture
2.) The page that should open allows some changes on the items from the Sales Order.
Picture
A.) The checkboxes on the far-right of inventory lines can be de-selected if you do not want the corresponding item to be added to the pick ticket.

B.) You have the option to change the sizes of slabs when adding them to Pick Tickets. This will carry on to the Packing List and Invoice.

C.) Lines without inventory allocated will not have checkboxes for de-selection. Instead, you can enter a percentage or specific amount of the full quantity you want to be on the pick ticket. The remaining amount will be available for addition to another Pick Ticket. The price is also editable on each line.

D.) The "Hide" checkbox will hide the corresponding line from printouts.
3.) Click the "Create Pick Ticket" button to view the Pick Ticket Detail Page. This Pick Ticket is now ready for printing and processing.

Pick Tickets

Pick tickets are added to Sales Orders when the order is ready for the next step towards fulfillment. Pick tickets are used in different ways depending on the company.

Distributors: Pick Tickets are used as a list of items for workers to stage for shipment or pickup. They will literally "pick" the slabs on the ticket from the yard/warehouse.

Fabricators: Pick Tickets are often used as a sort of shop ticket outlining the material, edge, cutouts, etc. needed for a job. Items on a pick ticket are usually considered to be moved into cutting/fabrication.

THINGS TO KNOW
  • After a Pick Ticket is added to a Sales Order, the header information (customer info) is disabled from editing. You must remove the Pick Ticket before editing the Billing and Job information on the order.
  • When items from a Sales Order are added to Pick Tickets, they can no longer be removed from the Sales Order. You can edit slab sizes on Pick Tickets, but you cannot edit the product name itself until it is removed from the Pick Ticket.
  • Multiple Pick Tickets can be added to Sales Orders. You can add a Pick Ticket for part of an order, and then add a different Pick Ticket for the rest of the order on a later date. However, different Pick Tickets cannot be combined. You must separately invoice parts of an order which are added to separate Pick Tickets.
